The CoMo Preservation Award
Celebrating outstanding Historic Preservation Projects in Columbia, Missouri.
The CoMo Preservation Award recognizes a historic preservation project in Columbia, Missouri that celebrates our city’s architectural and cultural heritage. This Award honors homeowners, artisans, organizations, and/or teams whose work helps ensure historic places are thoughtfully maintained, meaningfully used, and valued by the community.
Eligible projects include preservation work completed within the calendar year on residential, commercial, institutional, cultural, or community historic properties in Columbia, Missouri. Projects of all sizes are welcome, ranging from careful maintenance and long-term stewardship to sensitive rehabilitation or adaptive reuse efforts. The focus of this award is not the scale of the project, but the quality of decision-making, respect for historic character and materials, and the positive impact of the work.
Through the CoMo Preservation Award, CoMo Preservation celebrates the people and efforts that help ensure Columbia’s historic places continue to be valued, maintained, and enjoyed for generations to come.

Eligibility Requirements:
Projects must be located within Columbia, Missouri and completed during 2026.
Eligible properties include residential, commercial, institutional, cultural, and community buildings/sites that are 50 years old or older.
Projects may include ongoing stewardship, maintenance, rehabilitation, restoration, or adaptive reuse efforts.
Projects do not need to be large or highly visible to be considered.
Nomination forms must be submitted by February 14, 2027 to be considered.

Nominations may be submitted by:
• Property owners
• Architects or designers
• Contractors or artisans
• Preservation advocates
• Community membersSelf-nominations are welcome.

Awardees will receive:
• A feature article on the CoMo Preservation website highlighting the project, the people involved, and the materials and craftsmanship that shaped the work
• Promotion through CoMo Preservation communications, including social media and newsletters
• A commemorative plaque or marker recognizing the achievement
• A digital award emblem that may be displayed on websites, project materials, or organizational communications
