Historic Research Workshop with Bob Nolte

Join us for a hands-on research workshop at the Boone County's Recorder Office designed to help you uncover the story behind the places you care about! Bob Nolte, Recorder of Deeds, will begin with a guided overview of how historic records are organized, indexed, and accessed—including maps, directories, deeds, and other local resources. After the introduction, participants will have time to explore records on their own. Please bring the names, addresses, or locations you want to research. This event is FREE but reservations are required. Space is limited--so register early! Come ready to dig into the past and uncover the history hidden in Columbia’s buildings and neighborhoods.

Bob Nolte, was elected the Boone County Recorder of Deeds in November 2022. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in History from Binghamton University and a Master’s in Education Administration from the University of Southern California. Prior to running for office, Bob served in the University of Missouri’s Athletics Compliance Office.
