Cake & Cocktails 2026: A Celebration of Architecture, Creativity & Community

What an incredible evening at this year’s Cake & Cocktails event! From inspiring presentations and engaging trivia to beautiful artwork and live music, the night was a wonderful celebration of the people and places that make our community special.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to the many volunteers who helped make the event possible. Events like this truly take a community effort, and we are deeply grateful for everyone who gave their time, energy, and talents to support CoMo Preservation and our mission. We especially want to recognize our Battle High School intern, Janaija Kimbrough, for her presentation on the Uptown Theater, “Broadway Rewound.” Her research, passion, and storytelling highlighted the importance of preserving and sharing Columbia’s architectural history with future generations. Thank you as well to Matt Fetterly and Enola-Riann White for leading such educational and entertaining trivia to end the evening. We are also grateful to the many local artists who contributed pieces to our silent auction, helping raise support for preservation efforts in our community. A special thank you to MOSY for setting the mood with amazing live music, and to the staff at The Tiger Hotel for their hospitality and support in hosting the event.

Guests also had the opportunity to view the inspiring artwork created by the ART-chitecture Contest awardees. We are excited to share that these works will continue traveling to different venues throughout the community for additional public display. Sign-up for our newsletter for announcements. The auction remains open now through the end of November, with proceeds benefiting CoMo Preservation and its ongoing programs and initiatives.

Thank you again to everyone who attended, volunteered, donated, performed, presented, and supported this year’s Cake & Cocktails event. Your support helps preserve and celebrate the architectural heritage of our community.

Be sure to check out the ART-chitecture Contest awardees and explore our the auction before it closes at the end of November!

CoMo Preservation is devoted to helping homeowners, landlords, and institutions prevent the destruction of historic architecture. Original period styles might be replicated, but will forever lack the social history of authentic structures. The preservation of historic places and spaces gives people a sense of place and boosts Columbia’s economy.
