Explore the fascinating relationship between town and gown on CoMo Preservation's Avenue of the Columns guided walking tour. Beginning at the Boone County Courthouse and ending on the University of Missouri's historic Francis Quadrangle, this guided tour highlights Columbia's architectural heritage, the iconic columns that symbolize our community, and the people, places, and preservation efforts that have shaped the city for more than 200 years.

Tour guides will be Matt Fetterly and Elena Vega. Elena is a native plant enthusiast who developed a love for historic preservation after buying a historic home in Columbia. She is a member of the CoMo Preservation board.  Matt Fetterly is a former board member of CoMo Preservation and previously served as the Historian & Collections Curator at the Boone County Historical Society. He is an 8th generation Columbian who has spent over 20 years collecting (and sometimes reading) books and ephemera about Columbia, Boone County, and Missouri. He gives talks and writes about local history.
