We want to express our thanks & appreciation to the Office of Cultural Affairs & all our display venues for their support for CoMo Preservation’s ART-chitecture Contest!

If you have not seen the winning entries, please be sure to stop in at the State Historical Society of Missouri where they are displayed for a few more days in October! Then they will be on display in The District window in November 2026!

Thank you also to the other generous venues who displayed the ART-chitecture Contest winners this year: Tiger Hotel in May, Talking Horse Productions in June, City Hall in July, Serendipity Polish Pottery and Art Gallery in August, and Orr Street Studios in September!

CoMo Preservation appreciates all the local artists who entered their work into the ART-chitecture Contest - an art contest inviting the community to create art with a focus on Columbia’s historic architecture. Everyone is invited to participate in the next ART-chitecture Contest - sign up for a sketch tour or just find our list of historic buildings for inspiration and submit your artwork in April 2027. Please note there is no entry fee and there are prizes for winning entries.

We are grateful to Dan Killebrew for leading Urban Sketch Tours for students from the Locust Street Expressive Arts Elementary School and other Urban Sketch Tour participants and to Matt Fetterly for sharing the history of the buildings!

Think about signing up for the free Urban Sketch Tour scheduled for Saturday November 14, 2026, from 11:15am to 1:15 pm! Click here to sign up: https://www.comopreservation.org/events/11-14-26

CoMo Preservation is devoted to helping homeowners, landlords, and institutions prevent the destruction of historic architecture. Original period styles might be replicated, but will forever lack the social history of authentic structures. The preservation of historic places and spaces gives people a sense of place and boosts Columbia’s economy. You can get involved by becoming a member, volunteering, signing up for our newsletterattending an event, ordonating.
