Announcing…The CoMo Preservation Award

CoMo Preservation is proud to introduce The CoMo Preservation Award, a new initiative recognizing outstanding historic preservation projects in Columbia, Missouri.

This award celebrates the people behind the places—honoring homeowners, artisans, organizations, and project teams whose work helps ensure that historic buildings are thoughtfully maintained, meaningfully used, and valued by the community. Projects of all sizes are encouraged, from careful maintenance and long-term stewardship to sensitive rehabilitation and adaptive reuse.

Historic preservation is not only about saving buildings—it is about preserving the stories, craftsmanship, and community identity embedded within them. Through this award, CoMo Preservation seeks to highlight best practices and elevate projects that demonstrate respect for historic character, materials, and the broader impact on Columbia’s architectural heritage.

Award recipients will be recognized through featured stories, highlighting the people, process, and materials that made each project possible, and will receive a commemorative marker to showcase their achievement.

We invite you to help us celebrate the work happening across Columbia by submitting a nomination and sharing this opportunity with others.
